This duplex of about 150m2 + 40m2 terrace, located in an old building from 1912.
It was decided to allocate a large part of the budget to improving the structure of the duplex, the two floors were reinforced, walls and ceilings were insulated, aluminum enclosures were eliminated to improve the old aesthetics of the façade, and aerothermal heating was installed.
As for the distribution, it was made completely new. On the ground floor, at the foot of the terrace, the living room and open kitchen were located, access via the stairs was improved despite the structural limitations, a guest bathroom with a shower, the black bathroom, was located under the stairs. On the upper floor, and thanks to the elimination of one of the aluminum enclosures that closed two façade balconies, the two main rooms were located with access to the block patio, just above the terrace. In addition, a third guest room, dressing room and bathroom were built on this floor.
The materials and decoration, as usual in the studio, tend to be noble, durable, timeless and contemporary. Choosing white in general since it was a ground floor and we wanted to provide luminosity to the apartment, and colors with more character such as yellow and green to apply them occasionally in the kitchen, closets, paneling. The client, a renowned designer and digital artist, trusted the Studio fully and added decisive contributions. We believe we have achieved our goal with this quiet, warm, and cozy duplex.
